Salt

Salt is a mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride (NaCl), a chemical compound belonging to the larger class of salts; salt in its natural form as a crystalline mineral is known as rock salt or halite. Salt is present in vast quantities in seawater, where it is the main mineral constituent. The open ocean has about 35 grams (1.2 oz) of solids per litre, a salinity of 3.5%. Salt is essential for human life, and saltiness is one of the basic human tastes. The tissues of animals contain larger quantities of salt than do plant tissues. Salt is one of the oldest and most ubiquitous food seasonings, and salting is an important method of food preservation.

India is the third largest Salt producing Country in the world after USA and China.

USES OF SALT

  • Chloro Alkali Industry
  • Edible Industry
  • Road De-icing
  • Softening Hard water

CEMENTATION is one of the leading producers and exporter of Salt, producing more than 500,000 TPA, spread in an area of 3,600 acres to produce various varieties of salt. It is located in Kutch a western region very near to kandla port, India.

Our approach to salt production involves extracting seawater and then using the evaporative power of the sun and the wind to crystallise pure sodium chloride salt in a series of ponds called crystallisers.

We produce quality Industrial Salt, Raw Sea Salt and De-icing Salt (for road). It is exported on larger volume and balance is sold in the local market.
